Take note of this 2015 change...
HISTORICAL dates are always worth noting.
1833 Slavery Abolition Act came into force. 2015 the Tory T Government abandons its very own slavery programme. According to this year's autumn statement, the Mandatory Work Activity (MWA W )andthe community action programme (CAP) will not have their contracts renewed.
Thus far 120,000 jobseekers were forced to work full time for their dole, or have it snatched away. One of these schemes (CAP) had the unemployed working unwaged for six months. The Institute for Fiscal Studies came to the conclusion that work-for-your-dole schemes have no benefit to jobseekers.
In fact they came to this conclusion way back in 2011. But that didn't stop the DWP ploughing a further PS5bn into a work programme so childish it made CBeebies' The Numtums look like Mastermind shoo-ins.
Seemingly, the DWP were dishing out candy pounds like Willy Wonka on steroids.
The training was dubbed amateur hour and work experience did not match the wads of dough dished out.
Few tears will be shed for the private companies who got rich off the backs of the unemployed. In their search for a new contract, these work providers may have to find work elsewhere.
Ap erfect opening has just arisen. I hear Ronald McDonald is currently auditioning for a nationwide tribute act.
