Take a garden stroll along the bridal path.

One of the North's top tourist attractions will soon be helping its guests tie the knot, after being granted a licence to conduct civil ceremony weddings.

On Sunday, the Alnwick Garden will stage a wedding fair to celebrate the news, and give would-be happy couples a chance to meet the events team, see the spaces, meet suppliers and enjoy a special wedding fashion show.

The garden has already hosted many wedding receptions, and from March, couples can also have their wedding ceremony in one of its unique spaces.

A spokeswoman said: "The garden is delighted to have been approved for the solemnisation of civil marriages and the formation of civil partnerships.

"Couples can choose to hold their ceremony in any of our indoor spaces, from the quirky treetop location of The Treehouse, to the Pavilion Room with the garden's magical landscape as a backdrop.

"There are endless opportunities for unique celebrations, from champagne and canapes in the rose garden to drinks on one of the pavilion's terraces.

"As darkness falls, the terraces sparkle with thousands of tiny lights, for a really romantic evening."

The wedding fair runs from 10am to 4pm.
