Taiwan Province of China : AUTOMATED IMMIGRATION CLEARANCE SYSTEM installed in TAIWAN.

The National Immigration Agency (NIA) announced that Taiwan's automated immigration clearance system, commonly known as e-Gate, is planned to be opened for foreign nationals residing in the country from Sept. 3.

Automated immigration checks, which can be completed in 11 seconds is offered by the system.

NIA noted that foreign residents, including Chinese spouses and people from Hong Kong and Macau with permanent residency in Taiwan will be enabled to register to enter or exit Taiwan through e-Gates at the country's major airports on Sept. 3.

ROC resident certificates will have to be swiped by foreign residents instead of their passports.

At Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Songshan Airport, Kaohsiung Airport, and Shuitou Harbor on Kinmen Island, the E-Gates are installed.
