Taco Holdings sold, earns export award.

Taco Holdings, made up of Taco Plastics and Tacolin, Winsford, U.K., was recently purchased by the Britton Group, a U.K. concern that already owns Gelpack, a specialist bagmaker. The move completes a plan by Taco Holdings to move from a private company to a public concern and establishes a firm base for future expansion. The deal was completed in July.

In Tacolin news, the diaper film manufacturer was the only polyethylene film producer in the U.K. to be awarded the Queen's Award for Export. Since 1989, exports have grown 250% as the company has supplied the disposable care market in a growing number of countries. Currently, 80% of sales come from product shipped outside the U.K. At Taco Plastics, the company also recently installed the first phase of a 3.8 [pounds] million investment program, showcasing the latest extrusion technology.
