Tabarzadeh furloughed.

Political prisoner Heshmatollah Tabarzadi has been given his first furlough after three years in prison.

Tabarzadi was once one of the leading student leaders and dissidents in the country. He was repeatedly arrested and held for months at a time. He was last arrested in December 2009 during the crackdown that followed the 2009 presidential election.

Tabarzadi was one of the founders of the Union of Islamic Students and Alumni Associations as well as the Democratic Front of Iran. He ran several student publications such as Payame Daneshju and Neday-e Daneshju.

Tabarzadi was sentenced to 10 years in prison for "propaganda against the regime and insuiting the Leader."
