TYLER UNIT EMPLOYEES RATIFY UNION AGREEMENT

DALLAS, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyler Corporation (NYSE: TYL) reported today that a five-year collective bargaining agreement has been reached covering certain employees at its Tyler Pipe Industries' unit. Employees affected are located at Tyler Pipe's foundry in Tyler, Texas, and are represented by the United Rubber, Cork, Linoleum & Plastic Workers of America.
Joseph F. McKinney, chief executive officer of Tyler Corporation, commented: "Working with a union will not be a new experience for us. Tyler Corporation has worked with unions at other points in its history and currently has union representation at Tyler Pipe's Pennsylvania facility.
"The emphasis at Tyler Pipe will remain that of improving productivity while pursuing additional markets for iron-foundry products," McKinney continued. "We believe the terms of the labor agreement are consistent with this strategy."
Tyler Pipe has its headquarters and largest foundry in Tyler, and major plants in Macungie, Pa., and Marshfield, Mo.
Tyler Corporation, with national headquarters in Dallas, provides cast iron pipe and fittings and automotive aftermarket parts.
