 TYCO/GRINNELL ASIA PACIFIC UNIT RECEIVES AWARD
 ON MAJOR SINGAPORE PROJECT
 EXETER, N.H., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyco Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: TYC) announced today that its Tyco/Grinnell Asia Pacific unit, as part of a consortium with MF Kent, an Ireland-based contractor and LSK, a Singapore company, has been awarded a contract valued at $112 million in connection with a major construction project in Singapore. The group will provide the fire protection, electrical and air conditioning installations at the project known as Suntec City which includes the futuristic Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, an 18-story and two 45-story office towers as well as retail space and parking facilities for 3,100 automobiles. This is the largest award ever received by a Grinnell company.
 The fire protection and electrical portions of the contract will be performed by Tyco/Grinnell's Wormald and O'Donnell Griffin units, utilizing a significant amount of Grinnell manufactured equipment. The first phase including the Convention Centre and the 18-story office building area to be completed by mid-1994 with the remaining office towers and central areas due to be completed one year later.
 This successful bid is the result of Tyco/Grinnell's expansion of its Asian operations. Other Wormald, O'Donnell Griffin and Grinnell units are now operating in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other parts of Asia, as well as in Australia and New Zealand. In combination with its other fire protection operations throughout Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, Tyco/Grinnell is the world's largest fire protection company.
