TWSE: assignment of warrant security codes to be revised.

Taipei, May 24, 2010 (CENS) -- To avoid unauthorized replication of security codes due to the volume and potential demand to issue call (put) warrants, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) recently amended the security code assignment method for newly listed warrants, effective May 17.

Changing warrant security codes from five to six digits will not affect the computer format of existing security codes.

The New Method

--Listed Warrants:

For call warrants of domestic securities or indices, warrant security code assignments will start from 030001. For put warrants of domestic securities or indices the sixth digit of the warrant security code will remain "P", with the code assignments to start from 03001P.

--Over-the-counter Warrants:

For call warrants of domestic securities or indices, warrant security code assignments will start from 700001. For put warrant of domestic securities or indices, the sixth digit of the warrant security code will remain "P", with the code assignments to start from 70001P.

The TWSE noted the existing listed (and OTC) call (put) warrant security codes will remain unchanged.
