A ROAD was shut for three hours after a two-car smash.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the B4117 between Pistyll and Llithfaen on the Llyn Peninsula shortly before 3.55pm yesterday.

A Ford Kuga and Citroen had collided shutting the road, while motorists were advised to avoid the area.

A Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) spokesman said: "We were called today (February 7, 2019) at approximately 3.50pm to reports of a road traffic collision near Llithfaen on the Llyn Peninsula."

There were no further details of any injuries.

A Gwynedd Council spokesman said: "We have been contacted this afternoon by North Wales Police with a report of a road traffic accident near Ciliau Uchaf, Llithfaen. Our officers are arranging to close the road, and signs will be placed to divert traffic."

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they had a fire engine from Caernarfon at the scene to assist.

The road was reopened by 6pm.
