TWO SENIOR INVESTMENT PROFESSIONALS ADDED BY OFFITBANK
NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Offitbank today announced the

appointment of two senior investment professionals.
Joining the firm are Richard M. Johnston, who will be the director of Latin American investments, and Susan C. Heide, who becomes the director of municipal bond research.
The core business of Offitbank, a New York state-chartered trust bank, is fixed-income portfolio management for non-profit organizations, corporations and high net worth families.
Johnston, 34, comes to Offitbank from Salomon Brothers Inc, where for the past three years he was a vice president in the international division. In that key role, Johnston had senior responsibility for all Salomon Brothers investment banking functions in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela as well as other Latin American nations.
From 1980 1988, Johnston was associated with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, where he solely focused on Latin American banking. Johnston served as the country manager for Mexico where, among other activities, he directed a $1.5-billion loan portfolio.
While residing in Caracas for three years, Johnston was the country manager for Venezuela in charge of all Manufacturers Hanover banking operations. A graduate of Middlebury College, Johnston was born in Colombia and lived in Chile as well as Holland, Japan, Germany and England.
Susan Heide, 47, joins Offitbank from the American Express Company where she was associated since 1984. At the American Express Company, Heide held several leadership positions including director of municipal research and vice president of credit research. A major responsibility of Heide was ensuring the credit worthiness of the more than $5 billion American Express municipal bond portfolios. Prior to joining American Express, Heide was a rating analyst at Moody's Investors Service.
Heide presently serves as co-chairman of the Disclosure Task Force and is on the board of governors of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. She is also a member of the advisory committee of the Municipal Securities Information Library. Last year she was honored with a Meritorious Service Award by the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
Heide received an undergraduate degree from Marlboro College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Boston University.
