 TWO EXECUTIVES REASSIGNED IN MEDTRONIC CARDIOPULMONARY BUSINESS
 MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT) today announced two executive assignments in its Cardiopulmonary business.
 Steven A. Tranter will become vice president and general manager of Cardiopulmonary operations, reporting to Bill Lewis, president of cardiac surgery businesses. Tranter, 40, had been vice president and deputy general manager, primarily responsible for integrating operations of Biomedicus, Inc., a Minneapolis manufacturer of centrifugal blood pumps which was acquired by Medtronic in 1990. He will relocate to headquarters of the Cardiopulmonary business in Anaheim, Calif.
 M. Jacqueline Eastwood, 45, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Biomedicus operations, succeeding Tranter. She joined Medtronic in 1987 as a product marketing director and has been vice president and general manager of Medtronic CardioCare in Forest Hills, N.Y., since January.
 Medtronic, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, is a leading developer and manufacturer of biomedical devices for improving cardiovascular and neurological health. Its Cardiopulmonary business specializes in systems that pump, process, and monitor blood when it is routed outside the body during open-heart and transplant surgery.
