TWIX[R] Brand to Give America's Funniest College Student a Sweet Deal: A Chance at His or Her Big Break.

The Student-Generated Video Scoring the Biggest Laughs Will Win Cash and a Taste of the Business of Comedy Via Once-in-a-Lifetime Internship and Shot at the Spotlight

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Mars Snackfood US announced today that TWIX([R]) is launching the Funniest College Student on Campus contest, giving students nationwide a chance to win $3,000 and the ultimate week-long internship: a behind-the-scenes taste of the business of comedy in Chicago for the TBS Presents A "Very Funny" Festival: Just for Laughs event in June.

"At TWIX([R]), we're all about providing America with the ultimate break, whether it's from work, school or just life," said Michele Kessler, vice president, marketing, Mars Snackfood US. "With TWIX([R]), we're taking this idea to a whole new level by offering one funny student a shot at a huge break in business and maybe even comedy."

Now through April Fools' Day, students attending a U.S. college, university, trade school or junior college can submit funny-focused video entries at

"We're challenging students to log onto and in three minutes or less, creatively crack us up through a great joke, the retelling of a humorous tale or just acting out. We think of it as the ultimate internship interview for people who think they're funny," Kessler added. "Whether a budding comedian or just the punch line of their buddies' jokes, one funny student will win the cash, the internship and the title of America's funniest."

A panel of judges will select four semifinalists. And, America, via online voting, will help TWIX([R]) select the country's funniest college student.

Winning the Sweetest Prize

The once-in-a-lifetime, one-week internship will include a meeting with a senior manager of the festival; the opportunity to shadow a member of the festival staff; a chance to see the inner workings of a festival rehearsal and tickets to six different festival shows. Semifinalists will each receive a year's supply of TWIX([R]) Cookie Bars.
