TWINBRUSH; UNIQUE TOOTH AND GUM BRUSH CLEANS FASTER AND EASIER
SOMERS, N.Y., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A new toothbrush, the "Twinbrush," provides more cleaning action in less time than conventional toothbrushes.
"Incorporating the American Dental Association (ADA) recommended "scrub brushing" technique, the Twinbrush's unique patented twin brushing heads effectively remove plaque for the sides and tops of teeth simultaneously while also cleaning and stimulating the gums," said Dr. Robert Porper, Oral Surgeon and developer of Twinbrush. More than 10 years of research and development by experts in preventive dentistry led to the unique design of Twinbrush.
"The cleaning power of Twinbrush is built into its head design," Porper said. "By using two heads placed at a 45 degree angle, Twinbrush is able to use the teeth as a "track" resulting in a more effective cleaning of the teeth and gums."
The curved handle makes the brush comfortable to hold and maneuver and aids in the correct placement of the brush heads which have high quality soft polyester bristles with rounded and polished tips.
The Twinbrush is also easier to use for the physically challenged. Handled adapters in different shapes and widths are being developed by Prevention Health Products Inc., distributor of Twinbrush, to further assist those with physical impairments as well as the elderly who may have trouble using a toothbrush because of arthritis or other illness.
Prevention Health Products, Inc. is also developing "TwinKids," a special variety for children age two through seven. Currently the Twinbrush is available in a variety of colors and can be used by anyone age six and up.
ADA statistics show that $34 billion was spent in 1990 on dental services in the U.S., up from $14.4 billion 1980 and more than 98 percent of Americans have some form of dental disease due in large part to plaque. The Twinbrush effectively addresses the problem of incorrect brushing techniques that often lead to plaque build-up and disease and with more than 300 million toothbrushes sold in the United States annually, the Twinbrush will serve this market as not only a cavity- preventer, but perhaps more significantly as a plaque-fighter.
The Twinbrush, recently seen on "Live with Regis and Kathy Lee," is now available in more than 325 Rite-Aid Drug Stores throughout Baltimore and Philadelphia. The Twinbrush is also available in more than 100 independent pharmacies and drug stores throughout the metropolitan New York area.
