Byline: ANI

Bangalore, Dec 24 (ANI/Business Wire India): The Writers Block (TWB) has announced the launch of India's first professional postgraduate course in Technical Communications.

The program is in response to the growing need for quality Technical Communicators by the industry, since technology reliance and quality of communication are key factors driving any business today. The program also fills in the gap that the university set up has failed to plug in. In countries like US, UK, and Australia, Technical Communication is a preferred academic and career option but the trend is picking up in India now.

The program is a one-year course and is divided into three semesters. There are only 25 seats for the PGDTC program and TWB provides assured job letters on admission for a minimum salary of Rs.3.8 lakhs p.a.

The admission is through a written test and a personal interview. This is the first of its kind diploma program in the country and has a strong accent on industry internships and placements. More information about the course can be found at http://twb.edu.in/.

According to estimates, there is an industry demand for over a 1,00,000 Technical Communication professionals. Technical Communication professionals are required by industries like software, information technology, e-learning, instructional design, telecom, aerospace, services defense, heavy manufacturing, automobiles, publishing and digital media.

TWB is already home to technical communication in India and offers very successful short term certifications in Technical Communication.

TWB also runs hugely successful TWB alumni, TWB on Campus and TWB Mentorship initiatives, which have allowed its students to gain a strong industry foothold. Over 50 percent of trained Technical Communicators and Technical Writers in the industry are from TWB.

More than 300 companies from sectors that include software, IT, telecom, pharma, biotech, nanotech, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, service, e-learning, services, publishing, digital media and FMCG hire TWB graduates as part of their technical communication teams. (ANI)
