TWA BONDHOLDER GROUP ISSUES STATEMENT ON TERMINATION OF TALKS

NEW YORK, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- A TWA bondholder group, which owns an aggregate of approximately $50 million of the $231 million of outstanding 15 percent senior secured notes due 1994, has been engaged in discussions of various options with TWA and its Official Unsecured Creditors Committee. The group today announced that these discussions have been terminated and there can be no assurance that an agreement will be reached as to the treatment of the 15 percent senior secured notes in any TWA plan of reorganization.
If no such agreement is reached, the bondholder group, which consists of Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P., Gabriel Capital, L.P., Morgens Waterfall Vintiadis, Inc., and Sass, Lamle, Rubin & Co., presently intends to oppose the TWA plan of reorganization filed on Feb. 16, 1993. Each of the members of the bondholder group has reserved the right, independently of one another, to engage in such TWA securities transactions or other actions as to TWA as it deems to be in its best interests.
