TVI CORPORATION REPORTS RECORD PROFITS FOR YEAR

BELTSVILLE, Md., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- TVI Corporation announced record profits for the year ending Dec. 31, 1992. The company earned $621,568, or 27 cents per share, on sales of $2,568,385. Sales are projected to be $5,425,000 for the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 1993, with profits projected at $1,037,000, or 45 cents per share.
TVI is in the final stages of reorganization from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and the stockholders and unsecured creditors have approved the TVI Reorganization Plan. The plan provides for each TVI shareholder to forfeit 10,000 shares of TVI common stock, CUSIP No. 873072-10-2, with the remainder of the stock subject to a 1 to 10 reverse stock split. The plan then gives the option for each current shareholder to purchase the new TVI common stock for only 20 cents per share. Following the reverse split, TVI would have approximately 2,328,000 shares outstanding as opposed to the current 23,279,731. The new common stock CUSIP No. 872916-10-1, is offered on the NASD OTC Bulletin Board (Symbol TVIN). Current Bulletin Board Market Makers are Troster Singer Corp., M H Meyerson Company, Koonce Securities of Rockville, Md., and D.H. Blair. Additional market makers will be added as warranted and requested.
In 1992, TVI completed a $1.5 million contract with Egypt for the construction and training of a tank gunnery range for the new M1A1 main battle tanks being manufactured in Egypt in partnership with General Dynamics. TVI supplied the thermal targets, lifters and movers for the new range. TVI has contracted for similar tank gunnery ranges in 1993 with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. The expected revenues from the new ranges are over $2.5 million.
TVI is adding approximately 15 new products to its product line, including state-of-the-art low-cost stealth products for the military. TVI expects the new stealth products to be the most profitable and largest-selling line in the company's history. TVI has the patents and secret methods of producing a low-cost stealth material, which has never been done before by other U.S. companies.
TVI Corporation manufactures and markets thermal signature targets for tank gunnery training and testing of heat-seeking missiles. Other military products include multi-spectral decoys and simulates, low-cost stealth materials, quick-erect shelters and electronic hit scoring targets for military and police training. Also, TVI is the manufacturer of Energy-Kote radiant heating systems for residential and commercial use. TVI also plans to start manufacturing a new line of products including low-energy food delivery heating systems for pizza delivery vehicles and heated food delivery trays for hotels and hospitals.
