TV studio asbestos clean-up.

TV bosses have spent tens of thousands of pounds renovating their studios - after the People revealed lethal ASBESTOS there.

Two of Granada's studios in Manchester - home of Coronation Street - were closed after we told how top stars were at risk from cancer.

And it led to several shows, including An Audience With Coronation Street, being moved to London. Now the studios have been totally gutted and re-vamped.

Our source said: "Bosses have spent thousands making them safe. They made sure no expense was spared."

The People told in October how Corrie production crew had been struck down after breathing asbestos dust.

One victim, Bob Acton, 60, got pounds 145,000 in a 2004 out-of-court settlement.

A Granada spokesman said: "We do not believe any members of the public or employees were at any risk but we thought we'd get rid of it now."
