TV star strips for tough desert survival test.

Byline: STEPHEN MOYES

SOCCER hero Ian Wright strips down to a loincloth for the hardest away fixture of his life - surviving alone in Africa's Kalahari Desert.

The former Celtic star wore the traditional attire of the bushmen as they taught him how to tackle one of the world's most hostile places.

A BBC crew filmed Wright, 38, hunting animals, lighting a fire and even dancing with the villagers.

The humbled TV presenter said: "I would never do it again. I was just so scared and hungry."

Ian Wright - Surviving the Kalahari will be screened on BBC1 on February 12 at 9pm.
