With four acts being eliminated from the live shows in only two weeks it seems that The X Factor spent far too long on the auditions, leaving only two months to whittle down 13 acts in time for the final before Christmas.

It all feels too rushed, which is a pity because there are some fantastic voices this year. In trying to be hip and cool The X Factor this year is altering a successful formula and too many botched experiments are distracting attention from the talent.
