TV Choice: The Making of Adolf Hitler BBC 2, 9pm.

Timewatch makes an impressive return with an attempt to discover what made this monster in human form tick. An abused childhood seems par for the course when it comes to creating disturbed adults and Hitler is no exception.

He even had a period as a homeless drifter before his misguided ambition led him into politics and his eventual bid for world domination.

The recent revelations about his possible homosexuality are examined and other surprising facts are also brought to light, such as him having a number of Jewish friends in his youth.
