 TURNER TO HANDLE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW COURTHOUSE IN MIDDLETOWN, CONN.
 NEW YORK, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Construction Company (AMEX: TUR) has secured a $31.3 million contract to build the new courthouse and parking garage in Middletown, Conn., according to an announcement made today by The Turner Corporation. The project will be handled by Turner's Connecticut office under a design-build contract, which call for Turner to have both design and construction responsibilities.
 Preconstruction services are already underway on the project, which calls for the construction of a 131,000 square-foot building and a 365- car parking garage. Construction is scheduled to start in June, 1992, with project completion projected for June, 1994. Architect for the project is Jeter Cook and Jepson Architects, Inc. of Hartford, Conn.
 "We are very pleased to be handling this job for Middletown, it's a big step for the community and a great chance for us to apply our design-build expertise," commented Stuart B. Robinson, Turner vice president and general manager of the company's Connecticut territory.
 This is Turner's fourth contract for the State of Connecticut or its agents. In addition, Turner has completed projects in Connecticut such as the Freeman athletic facility at Wesleyan University in Middletown, the Yale Center for Molecular Medicine in New Haven, both the 16-story People's Bank Bridgeport Center and the P.T. Barnum Museum in Bridgeport, the two-story addition and renovation at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury and a 612-car parking garage for Greenwich Hospital.
 Turner is currently working on projects in Connecticut such as the Yale New Haven Hospital Facilities project, the Norwalk Hospital two- story addition and renovations, the Greenwich Hospital Cancer Center and the renovation project in the High Building at Hartford Hospital.
