 TURNER CONSTRUCTION TO HANDLE CHICAGO SCHOOLS BUILDING PROGRAM
 NEW YORK, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Turner Construction Company has been awarded a construction management contract by the Public Building Commission of Chicago to complete a $30 million building program for Chicago Public School Districts 5 and 6, according to an announcement made today by the Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder. The program is part of a comprehensive plan to expedite and improve the delivery of construction services to inner city schools.
 The building program for the two school districts includes renovations and additions to 20 elementary and high schools within the districts. Construction started in January 1992, and two of the projects are currently under way. The majority of construction will be completed in 1993.
 Turner Construction will serve as the program's construction manager. OWP&P and Primera Engineering will provide design review and program analysis. Other subconsultants include Rodriguez and Associates and Dynamic Strategies International. The team will provide review and oversight of design, construction, budget and schedules for the commission. The program includes affirmative action and outreach programs and participation of minority- and women-owned business enterprises.

 Turner Construction Company completed more than $206 million of education construction in 1991. The company established its Chicago office in 1924. The office completes approximately $300 million of construction annually.
