TURNER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO BUILD MIXED-USE FACILITY IN CONNECTICUT FOR LOCTITE CORPORATION

NEW YORK, Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Turner Construction Company has secured a contract for the construction of a new 190,000 square-foot facility in Rocky Hill, Conn., for Loctite Corporation, according to an announcement made today by the Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder.
Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new three-story building were held earlier this month. Construction of the facility will be done on a fast-track basis with completion projected for Spring 1994. Once complete, the new structure, designed by Madison, Wisconsin-based Flad & Associates, will be split evenly between research and development facilities and administrative office space of Loctite, a Fortune 500 company and worldwide specialty chemical company which manufactures technical adhesives.
"This is a very exciting project for us," commented Stuart Robinson, Turner vice president and general manager of the company's Connecticut territory. He continued, "We're looking forward to applying Turner's considerable fast-track construction experience to this job. We hope to make this project as successful as the 16 we have completed for DaQui Belding, which is also located in Rocky Hill."
Turner has been building in Connecticut since 1915. The Connecticut office has completed projects for Prudential Insurance, Yale University, Digital Equipment Corp., Aetna, The Travelers, Novo Laboratories and the State of Connecticut departments of Corrections and Public Works. In addition to the Loctite project, the office is currently handling construction of projects for General Electric, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Yale New Haven Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, Hartford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Yale University.
The Turner Corporation, through Turner Construction Company and other construction subsidiaries, is the nation's leading general builder of hospital and healthcare, institutional, industrial, commercial, retail, government building and multi-unit housing projects. Operating through more than 35 offices, Turner has construction projects underway throughout the United States and abroad. During 1991, The Turner Corporation completed $2.7 billion of construction.
