TURKEY-EXPORTS OF CEMENT -Turkey's exports of cement up in 2010.

ANKARA, Apr 11, 2011 (TUR) -- Turkey's exports of cement increased by 7.38 percent in 2010 compared to 2009.

According to the Union of Turkish Cement Producers, Turkey's exports of clinker dropped by 29.7 percent in 2010 when compared to 2009.

In 2009, Turkey exported 14,027,538 tonnes of cement while in 2010 it exported 15,062,999 tonnes of cement.

In 2009, Turkey exported 3,947,202 tonnes of clinker but this figure dropped to 2,774,701 tonnes in 2010.

As far as regions were concerned, the Mediterranean region was the one with the highest increase in cement exports in 2010. Cement exports from the Mediterranean region were up 50.1 percent in 2010 when compared to 2009.
