TUNISIAN WELL HAS MINOR HYDROCARBON SHOWS
HOUSTON, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Marathon Oil Company has announced

that its Belli No. 2 well, nearly 30 miles southeast of the city of Tunis, encountered minor shows of non-commercial hydrocarbons in the Bou Dabbous formation.
The well is continuing to drill towards the second target reservoir objective, the Upper Cretaceous Abiod Chalk.
The Belli No. 2 is located approximately three miles north of the Belli No. 1 discovery announced by Marathon in July of this year. As previously reported, Marathon plans to begin producing an estimated 10,000 barrels of oil per day from the Belli No. 1 in Jan. 1992.
Marathon holds a 100 percent working interest in the 435,000 acre Grombalia Permit, acquired earlier this year, where the initial discovery was made. Enterprise Tunisienne d'Activities Petroliers (ETAP), the Tunisian national oil company, has the option to obtain a 50 percent working interest in the Belli No. 1 development.
