ANAHEIM, Calif., and ROCHESTER, Minn., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Transitional Technology, Inc. (TTi) and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) (NYSE: IBM) today announced IBM will offer service on TTi's 8mm helical scan tape products as part of IBM's portfolio of field supported add-on tape products.
This agreement authorizes TTi to sell IBM service with its 8mm helical scan tape products, which provide integrated back-up solutions for IBM's AS/400(A) mid-range business computers. IBM Customer Engineers (CEs) will provide nationwide on-site service support 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, for these tape products. "Now our mutual customers can conveniently receive high-quality unattended back-up and on-site service for their TTi tape products in the IBM market," said Matthew T. Goldbach, TTi president. "We were the first company to manufacture and ship a helical scan back-up solution to the computer environment. Now we're pleased to actively sell IBM service with our systems."
"This agreement allows IBM to provide a total solution to TTi customers' maintenance requirements," said Charles A. Harper, manager of services integration for IBM's Systems and Operational Services organization.
