TSI CORPORATION ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES
WORCESTER, Mass., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- TSI Corporation (NASDAQ: TSIN) announced today the appointment of John M. Nelson to TSI's board of directors and the resignation of Prof. Ray A. Goldberg from the board.
Nelson is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the Wyman-Gordon Company, a Worcester-based industrial manufacturing firm. Dr. Goldberg, the Moffett professor of agriculture and business of the Graduate School of Business Administration at Harvard University, had been a director of the company since 1989.
"I wish to express the hearfelt thanks of all of us at TSI to Ray for his years of guidance and counsel to the company," said James P. Sherblom, chairman and chief executive officer of TSI. "His leadership and insight was extremely valuable during our formative years. With the evolution of the company away from agricultural applications of transgenic technology to an operating business serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, we need to enhance the operational experience base of the board. John Nelson will be a very valuable resource in this regard and we look forward to his assistance as our business grows."
TSI is a life sciences company offering in vitro and in vivo preclinical and toxicology testing services, human clinical testing services, and diagnostic intermediate products. TSI is also developing advanced toxicology tests and disease models based on genetic engineering and transgenic techniques to improve the efficiency of the pharmaceutical/chemical development process.
