TRUST COMPANY OF THE WEST NAMES ABRAMS AND DREW MANAGING DIRECTORS, PLAGER SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

 LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1 ~PRNewswire~ -- Trust Company of the West (TCW) has named Stefan D. Abrams and Marvin W. Drew managing directors, and Pamela M. Plager senior vice president.
 Abrams, managing director of equity strategy, served as chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Kidder, Peabody & Co. before joining TCW. He was a general partner at Oppenheimer & Co. for 16 years, serving as chief investment strategist and manager of the firm's investment advisory business. Previously, he was a partner at Bear Stearns & Co., where he started Bear Stearns Capital Management. Abrams began his career as a securities analyst at Loeb Rhoades & Co., and subsequently became a vice president and portfolio manager of the Abacus Fund.
 He is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, where he earned a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis on finance and marketing, and a bachelor's degree in economics. Abrams is a trustee and treasurer of the American Ballet Theatre and a trustee of both Vassar College and Concord Academy.
 Drew is managing director of large capitalization equities. He was an independent financial consultant for six years prior to joining TCW. Previously, he managed equity products at Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co., where he served as vice president for 23 years, and he was also vice president at Title Insurance and Trust Co. for 12 years.
 He is currently a director of Achip Technologies Inc. and a trustee for Claremont McKenna College. He was director of the Financial Analysts Federation from 1975 to 1978 and president of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts from 1965 to 1966.
 Drew holds a master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance, from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree in political economics from Claremont McKenna College.
 Plager, senior vice president of small cap growth equities, came to TCW from Bankers Trust Co., where she was responsible for securities analysis and stock selection for small and medium capitalization stocks with emphasis on consumer, health care and biotechnology. Previously, she was associated with Citibank in both the private client and institutional investment divisions.
 She holds a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University and attended the New York Institute of Finance.
