TRUNKLINE GAS COMPANY ANNOUNCES COMPLIANCE FILING AND RESULTS OF OPEN SEASON CUSTOMER ELECTIONS

HOUSTON, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Trunkline Gas Company has filed its revised Order 636 compliance tariff reflecting the clarifications and modifications required by the March 2 Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) order. Trunkline proposes to implement restructured services on Sept. 1, 1993.
The restructured services included in the filing reflect the results of Trunkline's recently completed open season customer elections. Among the services customers elected were enhanced firm transportation, quick notice transportation, and interruptible storage services.
"These services were designed after extensive discussions with our pipeline customers," said G.M. Rana, vice president of marketing for Trunkline. "They will offer greater flexibility, efficiency and reliability in meeting the transportation and storage needs of our customers."
The new services being offered by Trunkline include:
-- Enhanced Firm Transportation (EFT), which allows for hourly flow rates of up to 150 percent of the daily delivery nomination and has an option that allows one nomination change for the current gas day.
-- Quick Notice Transportation (QNT), which provides for hourly volume changes in nominations during the gas day within the customer's maximum contract quantity.
-- Year-round storage and in-field transfers through Trunkline's interruptible storage service.
Trunkline Gas Company is a subsidiary of Panhandle Eastern Corporation (NYSE: PEL), which operates one of the nation's largest interstate natural gas pipeline systems, providing natural gas transportation and related services to the Midwest and Northeast markets.
