TRUEVISION ANNOUNCES OEM AGREEMENT WITH NETPOWER WINDOWS NT WORKSTATION VENDOR TO SUPPLY INTEGRATED VIDEO SYSTEM

LAS VEGAS, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Truevision (Nasdaq: TRUV) today announced that NeTpower(R) Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif., will integrate the TARGA(R) 2000 Pro and TARGA 2000 RTX video engines in a new line of Windows NT(R)-based video production workstations aimed at the video, multimedia content and games developer markets.

NeTpower's new Calisto(TM) workstation offering will include Truevision's TARGA 2000 Pro hardware and Avid Technology's Media Composer Express (MCXpressTM) pre-configured as turnkey non-linear video editing systems. The NeTpower video workstation has a list price starting at $25,000 and will begin shipping this June.

Truevision's TARGA 2000 Pro is a cross-platform, open-systems solution used for professional desktop non-linear video editing and multimedia authoring applications. The TARGA 2000 Pro digitally records and plays back high-quality video and audio to and from hard disk. It supports NTSC and PAL video standards, Composite S-Video and component input and output formats, and supports stereo CD/DAT-quality audio input and output.

The TARGA 2000 RTX, an upgrade to the company's flagship product, the TARGA 2000 Pro, is priced at $4,995 and will start shipping this June. The system incorporates a breakthrough dual codec technology that allows for real-time processing of broadcast quality 2D DVE directly from the hard disk.

NeTpower's Calisto workstations come in a standard mini-tower configuration which includes a 200 MHz Pentium Pro, 256KB dedicated second-level cache, 10/100Mbit ethernet, FAST SCSI-2, 6X CD-ROM, 16-bit Soundblaster(TM) audio, 1.44MB floppy drive, three 32-bit PCI expansion slots, two 32-bit ISA expansion slots, one PCI/ISA slot, three 5.25-inch drive bays and three 3.5-inch drive bays, two serial ports and one parallel port. All systems are covered by NeTpower's three-year limited warranty and include Windows NT Workstation pre-installed.
