TRUAX, OBSITNIK NAMED TO COMMERCIAL POSITIONS WITH ARMCO'S SPECIALTY FLAT-ROLLED STEELS GROUP

 BUTLER, Pa., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Two key positions in the commercial organization of Armco's specialty flat-rolled steels group were announced today.
 Dennis McGlone, senior vice president-commercial for the specialty flat-rolled steels group, announced that Dennis R. Truax has been named vice president-marketing and sales, stainless sheet & plate.
 Truax will have responsibility for all marketing and sales activities for stainless sheet and plate products of Armco's specialty flat-rolled group, with primary emphasis on chrome nickel stainless products from North American Stainless (Carrollton, Ky.), Armco Advanced Materials Company (Butler and Zanesville, Ohio) and Eastern Stainless Corporation (Baltimore).
 In making the announcement, McGlone said, "This represents the first step toward a more unified effort to market Armco's cold rolled sheet, coiled plate, and flat plate products to our common customer base for these products."
 McGlone also announced that Richard J. Obsitnik was named director-marketing & sales, automotive chromium stainless.
 Obsitnik will continue to have full responsibility for managing the marketing and sales effort for Armco's automotive exhaust system stainless product line. He will also have added responsibility to develop new markets for Armco Advanced Materials Company's ferritic stainless grades, McGlone said.
 Both positions were effective Sept. 1.
 It was also announced that Charles A. Stitt, vice president & general manager-electrical business; James R. Hyslop, director-marketing & sales, Coshocton Stainless; and Mark T. O'Mahony, manager-product planning, will continue their key roles in the specialty flat-rolled steels group, reporting directly to McGlone.
 Truax joined Armco's sales organization in 1969. He served in various sales assignments in Baltimore, Chicago, Louisville and Atlanta. In 1984, he became manager-field sales, western area, and then director-stainless steel sales in 1988. He advanced to vice president-commercial for Armco Advanced Materials Company in 1990. He was named vice president-stainless sales in 1991. He is a graduate of West Liberty State College with a B.S. degree in marketing.
 Obsitnik joined the commercial organization of Empire-Detroit (E-D) Steel in 1984. He advanced to general manager-automotive marketing for E-D in 1991. In 1992, he was named general manager-automotive chrome for Armco Advanced Materials Company. Prior to his service with Armco and the former Cyclops organization, Obsitnik had over 30 years of experience in the metallurgy and marketing departments of U.S. Steel Corporation. Obsitnik is a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering. He also pursued graduate studies in business administration at the University of Chicago.
