A WOMAN accused of attacking a frail shopper in a "trolley rage" incident has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Retired Michael Buckley, 60, was allegedly hit with a shopping cart in a crammed Marks & Spencer store in Bromley, South East London, just days before Christmas last year.

He suffered a broken hip and wrist, but his condition deteriorated in the Princess Royal University Hospital and he died there earlier this month.

Witnesses told police at the time that the woman shoved Mr Buckley with her trolley, knocking him down.

The 30-year-old, who was first arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on Boxing Day, answered bail on Tuesday, where she was further arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. Mr Buckley, of Forest Hill, South East London, suffered from severe hearing problems and weighed just 8st.

Following the death of his model wife Irene two years ago, he lived alone with his macaw Max which appeared in the Bond film For Your Eyes Only.

A neighbour said: "He loved wildlife and was a very generous man." The suspect has been bailed until August.
