TRNC-EUROPEAN MPs -Turkish Cypriot police releases detained Euro MPs.

GAZIMAGUSA/LEFKOSA, Mar 13, 2011 (TUR) -- Two Greek Cypriots and parliamentarians in the European Parliament, who were detained for illegally trespassing on a restricted military area of Maras (Varosha) in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), were released on Saturday.

Polish parliamentarians Jaroslaw Leszek Walesa, son of former Polish President Lech Walesa, and Artur Zasada were among 11-member group who passed from Greek Cypriot side to TRNC as tourists. Later Walesa and Zasada was detained by police for trespasssing on a restricted military area on Saturday. European parliamentarians were released in the evening.

Releasing a statement, TRNC Presidency said that two Greek Cypriots would appear in a court soon and they would be tried by the court in accordance with the regulation.
