TRINOVA TO SELL STAFFA MOTOR BUSINESS TO KAWASAKI HEAVY INDUSTRIES

 MAUMEE, Ohio, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- TRINOVA Corporation (NYSE: TNV) announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle to sell to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, the Staffa motor operations of its Vickers, Incorporated subsidiary.
 The agreement calls for the sale of the Staffa motor production facility in Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom to a newly established division of Kawasaki, Kawasaki Precision Machinery (UK) Limited.
 The Plymouth facility is manufacturing approximately 7,000 hydraulic radial piston motor units annually. Kawasaki currently has a significant business in hydraulic machinery and has been licensee for manufacturing Staffa motors in Japan.
 The sale is expected to close on Dec. 20, 1993.
 TRINOVA, with 1992 sales of $1.7 billion, is a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of engineered components and systems for industry. Its components and systems are sold through its operating comps?, Aeroquip and Vickers, to the industrial, automotive, and aerospace & defense markets.
