MAUMEE, Ohio, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The directors of TRINOVA

Corporation (NYSE: TNV) today elected to the company's board, Paul A. Ormond, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Health Care and Retirement Corporation (HCR). HCR (NYSE: HCR), headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, is the sixth largest provider of long-term care, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services in the U.S.
Ormond, 42, assumed his current responsibilities in October 1991 when HCR, formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Owens-Illinois, Inc. (O-I), became a public company. Prior to leading the buyout and public offering of HCR, he was president and chief executive officer of HCR and a vice president of O-I.
Ormond brings to the board many years of international managerial experience in manufacturing, marketing, finance, planning and product development. He joined O-I in 1973 in the corporate planning area and held increasingly more important positions with the corporate staff and Glass Container Division prior to being named national marketing manager for the division's soft drink industry in 1977. In 1978, he was named manager of the division's Atlanta, Georgia, sales district. In 1980, Ormond became O-I's senior officer in Germany as assistant general manager of Gerresheimer Glas, O-I's largest international affiliate. In 1982, he returned to the U.S. as vice president of O-I's Glass Container Group with responsibility for operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 1984, he was named a vice president for O-I's Packaging Operations and director of market strategy and development, a position he held until assuming his responsibilities with HCR.
Ormond graduated with honors from Stanford University, receiving a bachelor's degree in economics in 1971 and master of business administration degree in 1973.
