TRIBUNE MEDIA REVENUES UP 8 PERCENT IN FEBRUARY

 CHICAGO, March 22, /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Company (NYSE: TRB) today issued the following:
 Tribune's consolidated revenues from its media businesses -- newspaper, broadcasting and entertainment -- for the second period 1993, the four weeks ending Feb. 28, were up 8.1 percent verses the same period in 1992.
 Newspaper advertising revenues were up 5.9 percent, with classified the major gainer, up 15.9 percent. Combined advertising and circulation revenues for the Tribune Newspaper Company were up 5.4 percent in the period.
 Tribune Broadcasting and Entertainment revenues were up 14.6 percent, led by the gains of 25.7 percent at the seven independent television stations. Without WPHL, acquired in the second quarter last year, TV revenues were up 19 percent. Six Tribune radio stations revenues were up 27.8 percent, but without revenues of the two Denver stations, acquired at year end 1992, revenues were up 10 percent.
 Without the three new stations, Tribune's consolidated revenues were up six percent in the period.
 Tribune Company is a leading provider of information and entertainment. Tribune owns six daily newspapers, seven television stations, and six radio stations; produces and syndicates information and entertainment, and has an interest in one of Canada's largest newsprint manufacturers.

 (A) -- As a result of the QUNO initial public offering completed in February 1993, newsprint operations revenues will no longer be reported as part of the company's consolidated operating revenues beginning in 1993. For purposes of this report and to enhance comparability, 1992 newsprint operations revenues and the related intercompany sales amounts have been removed.
 (B) -- 1992 and 1993 revenues exclude the Palo Alto daily and weekly newspapers. The company ceased publication of these newspapers on March 12, 1993.
 (C) -- Includes WPHL in Philadelphia since its acquisition in June 1992. Excluding WPHL, television revenues increased 19 percent and 15 percent for the period and year to date, respectively.
 (D) -- Includes two Denver stations since their acquisition in January 1993. Excluding the two Denver radio stations, radio revenues increased 10 percent and 6 percent for the period and year to date, respectively.
 (E) -- Excluding WPHL and the two radio stations referred to above, consolidated revenue increased 6 percent and 5 percent for the period and year to date, respectively.
