TRIBUNE BROADCASTING BUYS RADIO STATIONS KOSI-FM AND KEZW-AM IN DENVER

CHICAGO, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune Broadcasting Company has acquired Denver radio stations KOSI-FM and KEZW-AM. The announcement was made this week by Wayne Vriesman, vice president/radio group. Tribune Broadcasting completed the purchase under a previously announced agreement with D&D Broadcasting.
The stations will retain their current formats -- adult contemporary at KOSI-FM (101.1) and nostalgia at KEZW-AM (1430). Tribune Broadcasting also owns KWGN-TV in Denver.
"We're very pleased to be in the Denver radio market," Vriesman said. "It fits in with our plans to look for opportunities in other Top 30 markets.
"These are the first radio stations we've added since 1978, when we bought KYMX-FM (96.1) and KCTC-AM (1320) in Sacramento," Vriesman said. Other stations in Tribune's group are Chicago's WGN-AM (720) and New York's WQCD-FM (101.9).
Tribune Broadcasting produces and syndicates radio programming through Tribune Radio Networks, distributes news and information to U.S. radio stations through its Zapnews fax service, operates seven television stations, and produces and syndicates television programming through its subsidiary, Tribune Entertainment Company.
Tribune Company (NYSE: TRB) also publishes seven newspapers, syndicates news and information, owns the Chicago Cubs and minor-league baseball teams, and manufactures newsprint.
