TRIBUNE'S CLASSIFIED AD GAINS BOOST 11TH PERIOD NEWSPAPER REVENUES 2.7 PERCENT; COMPANY-WIDE REVENUES UP 2.1 PERCENT

 CHICAGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Tribune's Classified Ad Gains Boost 11th Period Revenue and Statistical Summary for Four Weeks Ending Nov. 22, 1992, highlighted:
 1) Newspaper revenues (combined advertising, circulation and other) were up 2.7 percent:
 Retail revenues were down 1.2 percent for the period, down 0.6 percent year to date;
 General, down 6.2 percent in the period, up 4.8 YTD; and Classified, up 8.0 percent in the period, up 3.3 YTD.
 Advertising volume was up 1.3 percent in the period, up 0.5 percent YTD.
 2) Broadcasting and entertainment revenues (combined TV, radio and entertainment) were up 8.7 percent in the period, up 9.2 percent YTD. Television revenues were up 5.2 percent in the period, 6.5 percent YTD.
 3) Newsprint revenues were down 9.2 percent on shipments up 0.5 percent.
