TRAVELODGE EXTENDS VALENTINE'S DAY FOR THREE MONTHS

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- At Travelodge, one day is just not enough for Valentine's Day, which is why it has developed a 90-day promotion rewarding its guests with flowers.
Guests who stay at Travelodge for a total of four nights will receive a free bouquet of flowers. In conjunction with American Express and beginning April 15, card members will be eligible for the flowers after three nights.
Guests will have the choice between a bouquet of fresh spring flowers or a half-dozen roses to be sent anywhere in North America to whomever is designated, at no charge.
"This type of promotion enables us to reach a broader audience and at the same time reward our regular guests with an added bonus," said Bill Hanley, executive vice president of marketing. "We are continuing to develop an aggressive marketing program with strategic partners. There was such a positive guest response to our 1992 Paramount Picture summer promotion that we wanted to extend that good feeling in 1993."
The floral promotion is combined with Travelodge's new Pledge of Guest Satisfaction program, which provides for free local calls, no access charges on toll free or credit card calls, freshly brewed coffee and tea in the room and complimentary morning newspapers in the lobby. Guests will continue to receive the quality lodging facilities and service that Travelodge has always provided with an extra value package built in.
Advertisements highlighting the Valentine's Day promotion will appear in Travelodge's primary and secondary feeder markets on Feb. 14 and in USA Today on Feb. 16.
For further information regarding the promotion or reservations, contact a Travelodge representative at 800-578-7878.
