PORTAVENTURA, the theme park on Spain's Costa Dorada, was named the Star European Theme Park at the recent Travel Bulletin Star Awards.

The awards are voted for by UK travel agents and it beat Disneyland Paris, Terra Mitica and Alton Towers.

Choose from a variety of shows such as China Town, an acrobatic musical. The addition of three hotels, the El Paso, the PortAventura and the Caribe, along with another theme park, the Caribe Aquatic Park, and the Beach Club, means PortAventura is now a fully fledged resort. There are also three new golf courses, two 18-hole and one 9-hole.
