TRANZONIC NAMED TO FORBES 200 BEST SMALL COMPANIES LIST CLEVELAND, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tranzonic Companies
(AMEX: TNZ) , Cleveland-based manufacturer/distributor of paper, cloth and vinyl products, was the sole northern Ohio company and one of eight Ohio organizations to be ranked on Forbes Magazine's 1991 list of the "200 Best Small Companies in America."
The rankings, which appear in the Nov. 11 issue of Forbes, are based on consistent increases in sales, earnings and return on equity during the past five years. Additionally, long-term debt could not exceed total stockholders' equity. Forbes evaluated more than 4,300 companies with sales between $1 million and $350 million. Tranzonic, according to Forbes, with a five-year avarage return on equity of 12.2 percent, ranked 165th in the nation. Its five-year earnings per share growth rate was 15 percent. Its debt equaled 1 percent of its equity. Tranzonic has four operating divisions. Its Personal Care Division manufactures and distributes personal hygiene products while the Industrial Textiles Divison supplies industrial wiping products. The Housewares Division produces and markets laundry accessories, closet organization products, personal travel organizers and cedar storage units.
