TRANSTECHNOLOGY ELECTRONICS ANNOUNCES PURCHASE OF ELECTRICAL CABLE AND HARNESS PRODUCT LINE

 UNION, N.J., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- TransTechnology Corporation (NYSE: TT) today announced that its TransTechnology Electronics division had acquired the assets and business of Electrical Specialties Company of Peoria, Ill., a manufacturer of electrical cables and wire harnesses for the heavy equipment industry.
 Michael J. Berthelot, chairman and CEO of TransTechnology, said, "This acquisition fits neatly within our division's existing product lines, which include electrical cable harness, and conduit assemblies. Over the next year-and-a-half we expect to integrate it completely into our facility. Electrical Specialities will further increase our non- defense businesses while remaining within the parameters of those businesses we know and understand. Our engineering and marketing strengths will complement their production expertise and we look for a solid future in this line of business. We are happy to welcome the employees, customers, and suppliers of Electrical Specialities into the TransTechnology family."
 Electrical Specialities has approximately 175 employees at its single facility. Revenues for the calendar year ended Dec. 31, 1992 were $5.2 million with $8 million expected in calendar 1993.
 TransTechnology Electronics designs and manufactures electrical cable, harness, and conduit assemblies and electrical connectors, primarily for use in the aerospace industry.
 TransTechnology Corporation is a diversified manufacturer of industrial and aerospace products with over 1,100 employees in its eight facilities in the United States and those in England, Belgium and Australia.
