TRANSNET REPORTS RECORD NINE MONTH REVENUES,
THIRD QUARTER AND NINE MONTHS PROFITS
BRANCHBURG, N.J., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- TransNet Corporation (NASDAQ: TRNT), a leading dealer of personal computer systems and support services, today announced that the corporation's revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 1992, increased over 18 percent to $7,731,687 from revenues of $6,528,824 for the March 1991 quarter. The corporation reported earnings of $30,340, or $0.01 per share, for the quarter ended March 31, 1992, compared to a loss of $330,820 or $0.07 per share, for the period ended March 31, 1991.
For the nine-month period ended March 31, 1992, the corporation reported earnings of $38,536, or $0.01 per share, on record nine-month revenues of $22,523,026, as compared to a loss of $527,030 or $0.10 per share on revenues of $20,249,006 in the same period in the prior year.
Commenting on the results, Steven J. Wilk, TransNet president, said, "We are pleased with our record nine-month revenues and the increases in earnings for the three- and nine-month periods. In addition, our value- added sales approach is resulting in higher profit margins. We are optimistic that we will continue to achieve record revenues and continued earnings increases for the remainder of the fiscal year.
"In addition, due to investments made in the past, we project at least 30 percent growth in our service, support and training revenues in fiscal 1993. It is in these areas that our industry still experiences significant profit margins. Just as significant, these operations allows TransNet and our customers to establish long term relationships, regardless of the change in technology or hardware margins.
"During the past quarter, two events occurred which we believe will have a significant impact on our future performance and earnings. First, TransNet Corporation, as one of 50 dealers nationwide, was nominated and selected to join the Intelligent Systems Group, a franchise group of Intelligent Electronics. The election to the ISG will give TransNet Corporation a nationwide presence by assuring our Fortune 1000 customers based in the New York-Metro region that their locations throughout the nation will receive, through ISG, the high level of support and service that is TransNet's trademark. In addition to ISG, TransNet Corporation continues to enjoy its advantageous purchasing arrangement with Connecting Point of America, an Intelligent Electronics subsidiary. As for the second event, TransNet received approval as a Microsoft and Lotus training center for all Microsoft and Lotus products. We believe these authorizations will further enhance our newly created training division and profitability in the future.
"Although there are still uncertainties in the outlook for the national economy, the strong results we are currently experiencing, combined with our commitment to exceed industry growth, make us optimistic for a continuation of our positive performance through the remainder of the current fiscal year and beyond," Wilk concluded.
TransNet Corporation is a leading dealer of personal computers, peripheral and related equipment, service and supplies. In addition to the commercial sales and serevice conducted from its Branchburg headquarters, TRransNet operates a retail store and service center in Lebanon, N.J.
