TRANSCO SUBSIDIARY ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS

 HOUSTON, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Gas Transmission Corporation, a subsidiary of Transco Energy Company (NYSE: E), named Norris E. McDivitt senior vice president of Operations and Engineering, and Kathy F. Kirk vice president of Customer Services.
 McDivitt, previously vice president of Operations and Engineering, will continue his current responsibilities. The Operations and Engineering departments were combined under McDivitt's leadership in 1992. McDivitt, who joined Texas Gas in 1951, holds a bachelor of science degree with a double major in math and physics from Louisiana College and attended graduate school at Northwest Louisiana University.
 Kirk previously served as director of Gas Transportation Services. In her new position, she will be responsible for the Customer Services group at Texas Gas, including gas transportation services, gas storage services and other market-related functions. Prior to joining Texas Gas in 1982, Kirk graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of health science degree and completed additional studies at the University of Louisville.
 Texas Gas, based in Owensboro, Ky., owns and operates 6,200 miles of pipeline extending from the Louisiana Gulf Coast to Indiana and Ohio. Transco Energy transports natural gas through its interstate pipeline systems to markets in the eastern and midwestern United States, arranges for the transportation and sale of natural gas throughout the U.S., and is active in independent power generation and natural gas vehicle fueling services. Transco also maintains modest positions in other energy-related businesses.
