TRANSCO SEES NO INTERRUPTION OF DELIVERIES FOLLOWING RUPTURE

 HOUSTON, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation (TGPL) has advised shippers that it does not intend to interrupt or reduce deliveries to any firm shippers following a rupture of its mainline in Wharton County, Texas, approximately 60 miles southwest of Houston, that occurred Monday, Nov. 15. TGPL expects to have the affected line in service by Saturday, Nov. 20.
 "We are pleased that we have met, and continue to meet, all firm deliveries to our customers," said Robert W. Best, president and chief operating officer of TGPL. This situation has demonstrated the flexibility of our system and the reliability of our natural gas service," he said.
 TGPL, a subsidiary of Transco Energy Company (NYSE: E), owns and operates 10,000 miles of pipeline extending from the Gulf of Mexico to New York City. Transco Energy Company transports natural gas through its interstate pipeline systems to markets in the eastern and midwestern United States and arranges for the transportation and sale of natural gas throughout the U.S. Transco also maintains modest positions in other energy-related businesses.
