TRANS-LUX CORPORATION REPORTS INCREASES IN REVENUES AND EARNINGS FOR 1992 FISCAL YEAR

NORWALK, Conn., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Trans-Lux Corporation (AMEX: TLX) today reported increased revenues and earnings for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 1992.
Annual revenues in 1992 were $24.1 million compared to $22.1 million last year. Net income was $345,000 ($.28 per share) versus $321,000 ($.25 per share) in 1991. For the fourth quarter of 1992, revenues were $6.5 million against $5.9 million for the same period last year. "Trans-Lux turned in a solid financial performance in 1992," said Chairman of the Board Richard Brandt. "It was also a year of significant operating milestones. We received the largest single sales order in company history, and completed our largest acquisition ever. Mr. Brandt noted that the acquisition "significantly increased our presence in the outdoor market for information displays. At the same time, we are expanding our reach internationally, and are expanding our motion picture theatre chain in the Southwest."
Trans-Lux Corporation, whose securities are traded under the symbol "TLX" on the American Stock Exchange, has two operating divisions. The communications division designs, produces, leases, sells and services large-scale multi-color information displays for both indoor and outdoor use and various communication terminal products. Trans-Lux displays are used primarily in applications for the banking, financial, transportation, corporate and gaming markets. The entertainment division operates a growing chain of motion picture theatres in the Southwest.
