TRANS FINANCIAL BANCORP COMPLETES MERGER WITH TRANS KENTUCKY BANCORP

 BOWLING GREEN, Ky., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Doug M. Lester, chairman and chief executive officer of Trans Financial Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRFI), today announced the completion of the merger with Trans Kentucky Bancorp, in an all cash transaction.
 Under the terms of the merger, Trans Kentucky Bancorp shareholders received approximately $18,500,000 in exchange for all shares of outstanding common stock of Trans Kentucky Bancorp.
 In commenting on the merger Mr. Lester said, "This is an excellent opportunity to extend our network of commercial and retail banking services to the economically growing eastern region of Kentucky. Based in Pikeville, Ky., Citizens provides us with a strong foundation in the region on which Trans Financial can build." Trans Kentucky is the $190 million one-bank holding company for Citizens Bank.
 The merger increases Trans Financial Bancorp's total assets to approximately $1.2 billion.
 Trans Financial serves Kentucky and Tennessee through 37 offices. Its stock is traded in the NASDAQ National System under the symbol TRFI.
