TRACOR STOCK TO TRADE IN NASDAQ NATIONAL MARKET

AUSTIN, Texas Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The common stock of Tracor, Inc. will begin trading tomorrow in the NASDAQ National Market, announced James B. Skaggs, president. Tracor, whose trading symbol is TTRR, provides a broad range of quality, technological products, systems, and services for diverse government and commercial markets in the United States and numerous other countries. The company's Series A warrants, TTRRW, are expected to begin trading in the National Market this week.
Tracor's move to the NASDAQ National Market provides brokers and others with immediate access to the best bid and asked prices and other information about the company's shares throughout the trading day, Skaggs said. Those prices are available over more than 190,000 electronic terminals in brokers' offices throughout the United States and free world.
Trading data also are distributed widely through wire services for selective dissemination by newspapers and radio and television stations.
Tracor stock began trading in the NASDAQ Small-Cap Market on Nov. 23, 1992, and, before that, was trading in the "pink sheets." The company's third-quarter results included sales for nine months of $191,821,000 and net income over the same period of $2,908,000 or $.22 per share on a fully diluted basis.
In addition to increased market visibility, NASDAQ gives Tracor the advantage of multiple market makers who compete to offer the best bid and asked prices, as opposed to a single specialist on the floor of a stock exchange. Those making a market for Tracor stock include Herzog, Heine, Geduld, Inc.; Hill, Thompson, Magid & Company; Loeb Partners Corporation; Mayer & Schweitzer, Inc.; Oppenheimer & Co., Inc.; Oscar Gruss & Son Incorporated; Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc.; and Troster Singer Corp.
Tracor is a major engineering and technical support contractor in communications, sonar, and other areas; a leader in the development and production of electronic countermeasures systems and other advanced electronics; and a comprehensive source for flight testing, specialized aircrew training, and aircraft modification services.
