TRACOR REPORTS THIRD QUARTER RESULTS

 TRACOR REPORTS THIRD QUARTER RESULTS
 AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Tracor, Inc. , a leading

aerospace and technical services company, today announced quarterly results for the period ended Sept. 30, 1992, which represented a 2 percent increase in revenues over second quarter sales and a 25 percent increase in net income. Sales for the third quarter were $66,876,000, and net income was $1,173,000, or $.08 per share on a fully diluted basis.
Previously a privately owned corporation which successfully reorganized in 1991, Tracor is capitalized with common stock currently trading in the "pink sheets." Tracor, being newly incorporated in late 1991, has no prior fiscal years for comparison.
"Our third-quarter achievements include the receipt of a long-lead production order for our AN/ALE-47 countermeasures dispenser system, which represents the state-of-the-art in providing protection for aircraft against radar-guided or heat-seeking missiles," said James B. Skaggs, president. "This initial production order will be valued at more than $25 million when full production authorization occurs at the successful completion of the operational tests in the first quarter of 1993. This is the first of four annual production lots to be awarded under this contract, which currently has a potential value of approximately $100 million.
"Our firm backlog at Sept. 30, 1992, stood at $302 million with an additional $481 million in unexercised contract options," Skaggs said.
Also during the third quarter, the company won a five-year, $31.5 million contract for engineering and technical services in support of the U.S. Navy In-Service Communications Modernization Program for AEGIS Cruiser and Destroyer class ships.
Tracor provides a broad range of technological products, systems, and services for diverse U.S. government, international and commercial markets. The company is a major engineering and technical support contractor in communications, sonar and other areas; a leader in the development and production of electronic countermeasures systems and other advanced electronics; and a comprehensive source for flight testing, specialized training and aircraft modification services.
