TRACOR RECEIVES $8.5 MILLION IN INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTS

 AUSTIN, July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Tracor Aerospace, Inc., a leading producer of electronic countermeasures dispensing systems and expendables, received since March five contracts totaling $8.5 million from international customers. Employees in Austin, Texas; East Camden, Ark.; and Lillington, N.C., will perform the contracts within a two-year period.
 The first contract, valued at $2.8 million, is for the production of an infrared countermeasures flare used as a decoy to protect a variety of aircraft, including the F-4, F-15, F-104 and other NATO aircraft.
 Two other contracts, totaling $2.5 million, are for the production of several different types of chaff products used in tactical countermeasures radar reflections as protection for aircraft against missile threats.
 The fourth contract, valued at $1.7 million, is for the production of ALE-45 countermeasures dispensing systems, and the final contract is a $1.5 million program to produce electro-optical chaff.
 Travel Aerospace is a subsidiary of Tracor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTRR), which provides a broad range of technological products, systems and services for diverse U.S. government, international and commercial markets. In addition to advanced countermeasures and defense electronics systems, the company is a major management and technical support contractor in communications, sonar, and other areas and a comprehensive source for flight testing, specialized aircrew training, and aircraft modification services.
